Badam-Ni-Boi Fundraiser for ZAKOI Center

[Message from ZAKOI President, Bakhtavar Desai]

Hello Dear Fellow Zoroastrians,

Since we are getting closer to Navroze coming up in March, I just wanted to remind you to please consider helping my fundraiser again this year with your orders or donations to help me raise money as I do each year in Spring, to further our community’s efforts to be able to buy our own worship center someday in the OH-KY-IN region.  We are certainly making progress each year, though it is slow, but our determination is strong!

This year, we have some more delightful things to offer you!  Besides our irresistible Badam ni Bois, we have some delicious goodies like Bhakras, Mava Cakes (individual cupcake size), and Vasanu!  Please see the prices below:

The Badam ni Bois are $18 for 1 Boi, or $35 for a Pair
Bhakras are $18 for a Dozen, or $35 for 2 Dozen
Mava Cakes are $18 for 6 cakes, or $35 for 12 cakes
Vasanu is $28 for 1 Lb, or $55 for 2 Lbs

The S & H rates for the Bois through USPS will be:
$8 for 1 Boi (Small Flat Rate Box)
$15 for 2 – 8 Bois (Medium Flat Rate Box)
$20 for 9 – 20 Bois (Large Flat Rate Box)

For the other treats, we will package them in the most reasonable way for you, depending on the quantities you order.

All of these delicious treats are homemade with the best quality ingredients.  All the profits from these sales will be deposited in our ZAKOI Center Fund, and will take us a step closer to our future worship center!  So far, with all your help, we have raised about $100,000 in the last ten years of fundraising efforts.  We still have ways to go and any help you can continue to give us will be gratefully accepted!

I choose to do this fundraiser at this time of the year – around the auspicious occasion of Navroze coming up in March, because the Boi, a type of ‘Fish’ is a symbol of Happiness, Prosperity & Abundance in the Zoroastrian culture.  The fish itself, or, a sweet dessert, shaped like a fish, is often used to give as a gift of goodwill and friendship among friends and family on various good occasions.  The Badam ni Boi (a sweet pastry made with crushed almonds and flavorings), is a great addition to your Navroze Table and a yummy yet auspicious treat to gift your family and friends.  You can order it for yourself or for sending it to your friends around the country.  We will pack and ship it to your friends/family with a personalized note from you.

Besides a Navroze gift, it can make a wonderful birthday, navjote or wedding gift, or for any nice occasion.

If you don’t want to buy the Bois and the other treats I am selling, but still want to help us, we will gratefully accept your tax-deductible donation check made to the ZAKOI Center Fund, mailed to me at Bakhtavar Desai, 6383 Jamesfield Ct., Fairfield, OH 45014.  A receipt will be mailed to you soon.

We look forward to receiving your orders, and also your valuable help in spreading the word about this fundraiser for our future worship center.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about our efforts in raising money to buy our future community and worship center someday.

Thank you most sincerely!  With Best Wishes for a wonderful rest of the year!
