Banoo & Daraius Mobedjina Endowment Fund Established at ZAMWI

The BANOO & DARAIUS MOBEDJINA ENDOWMENT FUND established as a Transformational Endowment for the Zoroastrian Association of Metropolitan Washington, Inc. (ZAMWI)

Through the generosity and vision of the late Banoo D. Mobedjina, the Banoo D. Mobedjina Trust U/W (“Mobedjina Trust”) created the Banoo & Daraius Mobedjina Endowment Fund, which providedZAMWI with total funding of $900,000 of which $600,000 in endowed funding has to be maintained at that level for the long term. The revenue from the fund will be used to advance educational scholarship, music, and the maintenance and operations of the Kamran Dar-e Mehr in support of the Washington Metropolitan region Zoroastrian Community.

ZAMWI community by the Banoo & Daraius Mobedjina Endowment Fund.

“It is through the great generosity and keen foresight of our dear late Banoo D. Mobedjina, that the Banoo & Daraius Mobedjina Endowment Fund has been established to provide lasting support tothe Zoroastrians of Metropolitan Washington,” says Yezdi Antia, trustee of the Mobedjina Trust. “This investment in our community speaks volumes to the generosity of Banoo and Daraius and will keep their names and spirits alive for decades to follow.”

The Banoo & Daraius Mobedjina Endowment Fund is created in honor of the late Banoo D. Mobedjina and her much revered brother Daraius Mobedjina. Both Banoo & Daraius departed this Earth at an early age, and held a very strong affinity for music, education, the arts and their local Zoroastrian community.

“The establishment of the Banoo & Daraius Mobedjina Endowment Fund is a transformational moment in the history of ZAMWI,” saysZarir Khademian, ZAMWI President. “The educational and cultural support of the endowment will lift our community and especially the younger generation forward, and will establish a tremendous foundation for the maintenance and care of the Kamran Dar- e Mehr for generations to come.
