The Congress Committee is pleased to announce that Dr. Fariborz Maseeh will speak to delegates on Venture Philanthropy: An Investment Approach for Public Benefit.
Dr. Maseeh currently manages an investment firm consisting of hedge funds, real estate funds, educational and entertainment operations. He also is the founder and president of The Massiah Foundation, a charitable organization, which invests in transformational situations for broad public benefit.
Dr. Maseeh has scientific publications in business strategy, fabrication technologies, design of software for micro-scale devices, and has authored a number of patents and trademarks. He has also been invited to give numerous talks on science, entrepreneurship and philanthropy at various organizations.
Dr. Maseeh has a Bachelor Degree in Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from Portland State University, a Masters of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Doctorate in Science degree in Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Maseeh is a member of MIT Corporation, board of fellows of Harvard Medical School, executive member of California Council on Science and Technology and Trustee of The Foundation at University of California at Irvine (UCI) and Portland State University. He also serves on the engineering advisory boards at several institutions. Dr. Maseeh has received a number of medals and recognitions including Ellis Island Medal of Honor, Simon Benson Medal (City of Portland), the UCI Medal, PSU Presidential Service Medal, USC Viterbi Award and various others
