The FEZANA Talks is back for another enlightening session, this time with Parsi author Anahita Dhondy, who will speak about her book The Parsi Kitchen. Anahita has spent the last decade taking her culinary heritage to ambitious new heights. The Parsi Kitchen is a warm and whimsical memoir about how Anahita embraced the cuisine that she grew up with. Weaving together stories of the close-knit, loving and slightly wacky family, Anahita writes with passion about being raised in a food-filled household. From an heirloom Ravo recipe handed down from her grandmother to a Bombay Duck creation inspired by her travels through Gujarat—the tales behind her beloved dishes are a joyful read. The session will be hosted by Vera Springett, one of the co-founders of the popular Facebook group called Parsis Exchange Recipies (PER). This will be an engaging session for food lovers!

Speaker Bio

Anahita Dhondy is former chef–partner, SodaBottleOpenerWala, the Bombay Irani Café and Bar chain that promotes Parsi cuisine. A passionate cook since the age of ten and Le Cordon Bleu Grand Diplome holder, she has won several awards and accolades, including featuring on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list 2019. This is her first book.

Moderator Bio

Vera Dinshaw Springett is Creative Director for UX (User Experience) at University of Phoenix, with almost 20 years of combined ad agency and in-house branding and digital experience. Originally from Pakistan, Vera came to the US to earn her bachelor’s in Advertising and master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications. She lives in Chicago with her husband and daughter, and is co-admin of Parsis Exchange Recipes (PER).
