May 2008

Dear Association Presidents, FEZANA Representatives, Committee Chairs and Friends,
I am truly honored by the trust you have placed in me by electing me as the sixth President of FEZANA. I really appreciate the support and the overwhelming good wishes that I have received from all of you and from the world Zarathusti leaders.
Your support and good wishes enhance my strength to serve as your FEZANA President and I will do my best to live up to your expectations.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr.Rustom Kevala for conducting a productive AGM at the CZC Center in Los Angeles, and for his contribution to our community. The FEZANA office in Chicago and the proposed FEZANA Resource Center in Houston would not have been possible without his efforts.
I welcome Miss Nahid Dashtaki to the FEZANA Executive as the new Assistant Secretary. Nahid is a fine example of our enterprising youth, a young person who actively volunteers in her local community, and who has now come forward to volunteer her services to FEZANA. I would like to encourage more of our youth to participate in FEZANA activities. As I had written in my manifesto, I will request all Committee Chairs to co-opt a youth as a Co-chair, so that our youth can gain some experience to become effective leaders of tomorrow.
I welcome the Zoroastrian Association of Michigan (ZAM) as our newest member of the FEZANA family. I congratulate the Michigan community for taking this bold step of forming the association and am looking forward to working with its members.
As I mentioned at the last AGM, I request the larger associations to take the initiative and help small associations to achieve their goals. We are one large FEZANA family and we do need to assist our siblings to progress.
I commend and thank the California Zoroastrian Center and the Zoroastrian Association of California for successfully organizing the FEZANA AGM. I thank all volunteers, Mr. Sohrab Shahpour Salamatipour and his Board of Trustees, Mr. Ardeshir Baghkhanian and his Board of Directors, Mrs. Vira Santoke and her Committee of executives, for hosting this three day event. Special thanks to Themi Damania and her team of volunteers for flawlessly organizing the transportation.
It is now time to start working and follow-up on our short and long term goals. I request all presidents to send me their views and suggestions so that we can collectively work together.
Thanking you all,

Bomi Patel
