FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington D.C., 25 July 2010 – FEZANA announced today their participation at the 63rd
Annual DPI/NGO Conference to be held in Melbourne, Australia.
The Zarathushti faith tradition lays emphasis on the individual to make choices in leading a
moral, productive and charitable life. Bringing this ethos to the world stage, panelists will share
their thoughts on empowering individuals, NGO’s, Governments and businesses acting as
partners of positive change in fostering global health: not just managing disease.
Kayzad Namdarian, Friyana Bhabha, Jurstine Daruwala, Arnavaz Chubb, Armene Modi, Zeena
Irani, Homi Gandhi and Behram Pastakia will represent the Zarathushtis at the international
forum. FEZANA will present a workshop entitled "Public Health and the Millennium
Development Goals: A Paradigm Shift for Global Health Care Outcomes" on Wednesday, 1
September from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the Convention Center.
“Political Will and the Power of the Individual are currently lacking in the modern global
development effort. Overcoming these two hurdles requires unrelenting inspiration, persuasion
and the ignition of one’s soul to help the poor,” said Kayzad Namdarian, from Tonga, who will
lead the workshop. In this era of globalization and ascendancy of social media, ideas will be
explored that can improve health care particularly for those at the bottom of the socioeconomic
pyramid. Learning to make appropriate life style choices which respect the
connectivity of body, mind and spirit in maintaining good health will be the key message.
