Administered by the FEZANA Performing and Creative Arts Scholarship (P&CAS) Committee, the Bapsy Irani Scholarship for the Culinary and Fine Arts has been awarded to two qualified recipients listed below. The call for applications for this scholarship — which was donated by the family of Bapsy Irani — was announced in October.
Mr. Zius Irani (Fleming College in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada)
Originally from Bombay, Zius has been studying at this institution for the past year and plans to continue his education to obtain his Diploma in Culinary Management . This college is a ‘hands-on’ institute for learning culinary and other related skills in the field. Zius hopes to continue with his degree in Culinary Management and work in the field and eventually start his own restaurant.
Ms. Serena Setna (Conrad Hilton College at the University of Houston)
Raised in Houston, Serena is in her final year at the University doing Hotel & Restaurant Management and has extensive work related experience working with various food service companies.
She is also well integrated into the Houston Zoroastrian community since early childhood, when she made cookies for her classmates in their religious education classes.
Her long term goal is to start a cooking school for children.
Congratulations to the recipients on this achievement.
