"Cyrus, Human Rights and the Politics of the Past in Iran" was the topic of a fantastic lecture delivered by Dr. Daniel J. Sheffield at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, during the "Zarathushti Day At The MET" Celebrations on Sunday July 21, 2013.
This was in conjunction with the current exhibition of the Cyrus Cylinder and other artifacts, doing the rounds of the United States.
The event was organized by the local FEZANA member associations of New York, the Zoroastrian Association of Greater New York and the Iranian Zoroastrian Association with support from FEZANA.

The organizers received an overwhelming response to the event. 250+ Zarathushtis and well-wishers of the community RSVP’ed for the event. Due to the overwhelming response to the event, Dr. Sheffield graciously accepted the organisers request to have two sessions of the lecture. We are thankful to Dr. Sheffield for agreeing to do this at a short notice.
The speaker was introduced by Ferzin Patel of ZAGNY. The lecture was followed by a Q&A and a vote of thanks by Gev Nentin, President ZAGNY; Shirin Khosravi, President IZA and Homi Gandhi, Vice-President; FEZANA.
