A report on FEZANA’s representation at the National Interfaith Prayer Service for Healing and Hope organized by Religions for Peace, USA
Submitted by Bakhtavar Desai, Co-chair, FEZANA Interfaith Activities Committee
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Religions for Peace USA organized the 2020 National Interfaith Prayer Service for Healing and Hope to pray for all impacted by the pandemic. The service was held on US National Day of Prayer, earlier this month.
A video recording of the event can be accessed here or read about it on rfpusa.org website.
FEZANA participated in this national interfaith prayer service, represented by Behroze Dalal, R.N., from Cincinnati, OH, and member of ZAKOI (Zoroastrian Association of KY, OH, & IN). She recited a verse from Gâthâ Ushtâvaiti, Yasna 46.7, which gives a message of eternal healing and hope to all mankind. In reciting this verse, she reinforced Prophet Zarathushtra’s message to the listeners that mankind must always be aware of the best tools gifted to us by God to solve any problem in life – our Atharashacha (the Divine Warmth and Light that dwells within each human being), and our Mananghashacha (our Good Thinking Mind). When used well, our Atharashacha lights our way in life, and our Mananghashacha leads us safely to our goals or destination.
Behroze did a great job representing our faith and our prophet’s evergreen practical teachings.
