Dear Jamshed and the ZANT Board
First reports are that no member of the Dallas area Zoroastrian community was touched by the violence overnight. That is a relief to know, though tragically the lives of many law enforcement officers were lost and the lives of many others were brutally affected.
We at FEZANA can hardly imagine the pain of these victims and their loved ones. But we mourn with them, stand in solidarity with them and pray for them to gain some measure of solace.
All of the victims were actually escorting what was planned to be a peaceful protest, a demonstration that legitimately sought to put the focus on a troubling national issue. These officers, thus, were assisting in the essential mission of a democracy — ensuring space for free expression. That was another casualty of the senseless and callous attackers who hijacked the demonstration in Dallas. They tainted the very cause they claimed to espouse.
Please know that we at FEZANA stand with you and the entire Dallas community of all faiths in this hour. If there is any way we can assist, please let us know.
