FEZANA’s Statement on Religious Persecution

The Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA), as a steward of North American Zoroastrians, believes that any ban based on race, religion, or persecuted religious minorities trying to escape tyranny and oppression, hurts all communities. Zoroastrians know firsthand what it is like to escape persecution and seek a better life, and we stand in solidarity against discrimination in all its forms.

Zoroastrians, also known as Zarathushtis, have long-served as effective bridge builders in interfaith dialogue. The Zoroastrian religion is steeped in traditions of truth, righteousness, charity, beneficence and respect for creation reflected in the traditions of religions from both the occident and the orient. North America’s Zoroastrian community includes those who arrived from the Indian subcontinent, known as Parsis, and those who came directly from Iran seeking religious freedom.

FEZANA represents a diverse and growing Zarathushti community in North America.

Guided by the blessings of AHURA MAZDA and the teachings of our Prophet Zarathushtra; the Federation was founded in 1987 It serves as the coordinating body for 26 Zoroastrian Associations and 14 Corresponding Groups in the United States and Canada.

The activities of FEZANA are conducted in a spirit of mutual respect, co-operation and unity amongst all Member associations, and with due regard for the principles of GOODNESS, TRUTH, REASON, BENEVOLENCE, IMPLICIT TRUST and CHARITY towards all Mankind.
