The FEZANA Executive and its Congress Committee Co-Chairs Katayun Kapadia and Mahrukh Motafram are happy to announce the FEZANA Subsidy Program for the 7th World Zoroastrian Youth Congress, 2019.
FEZANA proposes a subsidy which will help sponsor young adults (18-35 years) with congress registration cost for the 7WZYC, City of Industry, July 1-6 2019. An amount of US$ 26,200 has been earmarked in the 2019 FEZANA Budget for this program.
For Member Associations
FEZANA shall give US $100 for each young adult selected by member associations, per the guidelines below.
· FEZANA requires member associations participate in this effort by financially committing to match at least US $100 for each young adult. Member associations may wish to exceed their share of US $100 for each young adult.
· It is Mandatory for member associations to be in good standing and have paid their dues by March 2, 2019 to be eligible for this subsidy.
· Each member association will nominate a certain number of young members for the FEZANA subsidy. The total number nominated shall be calculated by the number of votes each member association has (as of February 28, 2019), times 3.
· The limit of nominations by member associations will be based on the 2019 votes. To collect all dues and establish the number of votes for 2019 is necessary.
· Example: XYZ Association has 2 votes (x 3), hence 6 young adults will be eligible to receive subsidy. FEZANA will give US $600 (US $100 each), and XYZ Association will at least match the US $600 (association can certainly add more to the amount, if they wish to do so)
· The member association shall select the final candidates and inform FEZANA. FEZANA will send the payment directly to the member association for disbursement to the candidates.
· All submitted names have to have already registered for the Congress on its website https://wzycongress.org and have paid their registration dues.
· If there are more candidates applying for the subsidy than the required number, member associations will have to screen the candidates to determine the most suitable candidates.
Corresponding member/group
FEZANA shall give US $100 for each young adult selected by Corresponding Groups.
· Each Corresponding Group will be eligible to nominate one (1) young adult. They may contact the Small Groups Chair, Saghar Javanshir’s email to apply to FEZANA Congress committee.
· Limited to a total of 12 candidates (total of 12 corresponding groups as of 2018) approved by the FEZANA Congress committee.
· All submitted names have to have already registered for the Congress on its website https://wzycongress.org and have paid their registration dues.
· Mandatory for Corresponding members to be in good standing and have paid their dues by March 2, 2019 to be eligible for this subsidy.
Remote residence
FEZANA shall give US $100 for each young adult.
· Young adults who reside beyond 200 miles of any member association/corresponding group centers, and who are not affiliated with any association may apply directly to FEZANA Asst. Secretary, Xerxes Commissariat at asst-sec@fezana.org
· All submitted names have to have already registered for the Congress on its website https://wzycongress.org and have paid their registration dues.
· Limited to a total of 10 candidates selected by FEZANA Congress committee.
Procedure for Application
· All Member Associations/Small Groups by replying to this email shall establish their interest in participating in this subsidy program.
· All Member Associations and Small Groups shall advertise this directly through their newsletters.
· All candidates shall apply directly to the member associations/small groups.
· All candidates who qualify under the Remote Residence category shall email FEZANA Assistant Secretary Xerxes Commissariat at asst-sec@fezana.org
· All submitted names have to have already registered for the Congress on its website https://wzycongress.org and have paid their registration dues.
· The final lists from Member Associations and Small Groups shall be sent to FEZANA Assistant Secretary Xerxes Commissariat at asst-sec@fezana.org
· The Member Associations/Small Groups shall do their due diligence to make sure that all the candidates names that they provide have registered for the Congress prior to applying for the subsidy.
· Funds shall be disbursed by the FEZANA Treasurer Rooky Fitter upon receipt of the complete list of names from the Member Associations/Small groups. These funds shall be distributed directly to the association and they will be responsible for the individual distribution to the candidates chosen.
· In case the candidate elects not to attend the congress, and even though there is no refund for cancellations, a total refund of the candidate’s subsidy will be expected, unless the cancellation was for legitimate reasons with proper documentation.
Deadline
All applications by member associations, corresponding groups and remote residence individuals have to reach Xerxes Commissariat, FEZANA Assistant Secretary by end of day March 31, 2019 via email at asst-sec@fezana.org
