FEZANA’s First Ever Chief Social Media Officer – Tanya Hoshi
FEZANA is happy to announce Tanya Hoshi as its first ever Chief Social Media Officer. Tanya is a Zarathushti youth leader from Toronto and will be fulfilling this new role for Zoroastrians around the world. Tanya brings extensive experience as an award-winning film producer, with many of her films about Zoroastrians available to view at Path of Asha, a new initiative she is launching to highlight global Zoroastrian stories. Tanya is a storyteller by profession and recently produced the film Turning Tables which was acquired from her team by CNN’s Great Big Story. Tanya is also a producer at Shopify, an entrepreneur, and a reserves officer in the Canadian Forces.
In her new role as Chief Social Media Officer, Tanya will expand FEZANA’s online presence and will act as a liaison between FEZANA and the Zoroastrian community at large. Tanya has successfully ran social media and digital campaigns for the last two Zoroastrian Return To Roots Trips, which led to increases in followership, engagement, and publicity for the program.
Today, the majority of information is consumed via social media. This is especially true for youth who primarily consume and engage with their religious community online through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. FEZANA recognizes the need to adapt our communication strategy to engage our community, which is why we value appointing a dedicated person like Tanya to handle social media and digital content on behalf of our organization.
In order for FEZANA to have a long-lasting presence in North America, we need to provide our youth with opportunities to engage with our faith and community. Tanya’s focus will be to exercise FEZANA’s vision to engage, energise and empower Zoroastrian youth through social media. We truly believe we need to invest a tremendous amount of energy in our social media presence and Tanya’s accomplishments have shown she is qualified to take the helm.
