The winners of the $1,000 each scholarship are:
          • Dinyar P Patel of Bakersfield, CA,
studying for a B.A. in Industrial Relations at Stanford University, CA.

          • Behnam Bastani of North Vancouver, Canada
studying for B.S. in Computer Science at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC.

Congratulations. I Hope this will encourage them to excel in their respective fields of study. I want to thank the members of the committee and especially the chairman, Dr. Mehraban Khodavandi.

COMMITTEE ANNOUCEMENTS:

  • Sarosh Sukhia and Dinshaw Joshi have asked to be excused from their responsibilities of Public Relations and FEZANA Appeals Co-ordinator, respectively.
  • Rashid Mahin has agreed to accept the responsibility of Public Relations. Rashid is a trustee of the California Zoroastrian Center. Rashid’s telephone is number is 760-944-0441. His e-mail: rmehin@yahoo.com

It is requested of members associations that instead of individuals and or individual associations responding to instances demanding response on behalf of the Zarathushti community, that we let the Rashid Mahin respond on behalf of us. It will be much more effective if a representative of the Federation responds and speaks on behalf of the entire community.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dinshawji for the valuable he has service rendered. Dinshawji had this awesome responsibility since the inception of FEZANA. I have relied on his advice considerably.

GUJARAT EARTHQUAKE:

Fezana was able to raise the sum of $4,800, of which $3,000 has been sent to Ahmedabad Parsi Panchayet. The amount collected so far includes donations from the Zoroastrian Association of Florida ($1,001), and donation of $1,000 from Dr. & Mrs. Jerry Kharadi. Other associations are planning to send contribution directly or through the World Zoroastrian Association. We want to thank every donor for contributing.

ANNUAL DUES:

A request: Those associations who have not paid the annual dues are requested to do so at earliest convenience.
