The Yazatas are helpers of Ahura Mazda who are special beings worthy of deep reverence.
Calendar
The Zoroastrian Calendar is unique and has 30 days and 12 months in which each day has a name and not a number. Presently, there are three (3) calendars that are followed by the Zoroastrians depending upon their traditions.
Bundahishn
The story of Creation in Zoroastrianism is called the Bundahishn. It was written in the 9th century in the Pahlavi language. It reflects ancient Zoroastrian and even pre-Zoroastrian beliefs.
Amesha Spentas
The Amesha Spentas are theological concepts of Zoroastrianism and mean ‘Bountiful Immortal’. The Amesha Spentas are considered to be the attributes of Ahura Mazda that form the principles or the ethical structure that every Zoroastrian should live their life by.
Ahura Mazda
In Zoroastrianism, God is called Ahura Mazda which means Lord of Wisdom. Zoroastrians believe that there is only one God.
Life and Legends of Zarathushtra
Zarathushtra Spitaman is our prophet. His date of birth varies from 6000 BCE to 3000 BCE. He is believed to be born in the city of Rae, in present day Afghanistan.
Fire
Fire is the 7th Creation of Ahura Mazda, known as Asha Vahishta – the Best Truth/ Order.
Prayers
Prayers are our way of communicating with Ahura Mazda. Most of our prayers are written in our ancient language called Avestan. Some prayers are written in Pahlavi and Persian (Pazand).
Sudreh and Kushti
The word SUD means good and REH means path. So, the SUDREH means the Good Path and with your Sudreh on you, you are always on the good path of Ahura Mazda.
